Richwood - G. Harvey Arbaugh, 44, of Richwood died Aug. 22, 1995, at home after a short illness.
He was an employee of SMR Technologies Inc. Fenwick, a graduate of Richwood High School and a member of the Richwood Moose Lodge No. 770.
Surviving: wife, Terri Arbaugh; daughter, Christy Santee of Carrolton, Ohio; parents, Billy and Mary Jo Arbaugh of Richwood; brother, William Martin of Richwood; sister, Edith Lynn Greathouse of Hickory, N.C.; one grandchild; one step grandchild. |

Phillip Michael Chewning
Phillip Michael Chewning departed this life suddenly Thursday August 16, 2007 in Nags Head. Phillip was born September 20, 1951 in Green Valley, West Virginia. He was the son of Philmore and Estella Chewning who preceded him in death.
Truly a “larger than life” local personality, Mike or “Dabo” as he was known to family and friends moved to the Outer Banks nine years ago from West Virginia with his soul mate and wife of 22 years, Karen Baber Chewning. Mike and Karen and their daughters made their home in Nags Head. Mike was employed by K-mart for 20 years before retiring and moving to West Virginia and then to the Outer Banks to venture into a few real estate deals. Mike loved all sports- football and baseball especially. Mike will be dearly missed by many. He will be remembered as a loving dad, a devoted husband, and a loyal friend.
Besides his wife Karen, left to cherish the memory of Phillip Michael Chewning are two daughters, Maria and Josie Chewning and his very special four-year-old granddaughter McKayla Gloria Gordon - known as “The Muck” to friends; one brother Gregory Allen Chewning of St. Petersburg, Florida; a step-brother Wilford and wife Sharon Johnson, a step-sister Betty and husband Pat McCutcheon of West Virginia, a niece Angela Johnson of Kill Devil Hills; and a very close friend and brother-in-law Michael Baber of Charlottesville, Virginia.
The family will hold a visitation Wednesday August 22, 2007 from six O’clock to eight O’clock in the evening at the Gallop Funeral Services Chapel in Nags Head. The celebration of Mike’s life will be held Thursday August 23, 2007 at 10 O’clock in the morning at the Gallop Funeral Services Chapel with The Reverend Steve Siegrist officiating. Interment will follow at Southern Shores Cemetery. Following the services, the family will receive family and friends at The Kill Devil Grill in Kill Devil Hills.

Linda Sue Lockard Fields
Linda Sue Fields, 53, of Leivasy Road, died at her home following a short illness. Born October 30, 1951, at Richwood, she was the daughter of Charles and Margaret Jeffers Lockard of Franklin, WV. She attended O'Dell Town Freewill Baptist Church of Nettie and was a homemaker. Those left to morn her passing are her husband, Roy Eldon Fields of Nettie; her parents; daughters, Amanda Davis of Brandywine and Martha Russell of Leivasy; sons, Andy Fields of Brandywine and Eric Fields of Nette and three grandchildren, Danielle and Christopher Felds and Sklyler Davis.

Shirley Jean Johns Hinger
Shirley Jean Johns Hinger, 50, of Moorefield, Hardy County, WV, formally of Nettie, Nicholas County, WV died Thursday, May 24, 2001 at her home. Born March 16, 1951 at Richwood, Nicholas County, WV; she was a daughter of Raleigh M. and E. Louise Donaldson Johns of Mt. Nebo. She was a member of the Old Fields Baptist Church at Old Fields and was an employee of American Woodmark Corporation.
Surviving besides her parents are husband, Kenny Hinger, Sr.; two sons, Kenny R. Hinger, Jr. and Corey Hinger, both of Moorefield; two brothers, Raleigh M. Johns, Jr. of Summersville and David M. Johns of Mt. Nebo; one granddaughter, Vanessa Hope Hinger. |

Judy Ellen Brinson
Judy Ellen "Granny" Malcomb Brinson, 55, of Craigsville, Nicholas County, entered into rest on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at her home after a long illness.
Born Oct. 4, 1951, at Richwood, she was a daughter of Charles Boyd Malcomb of Craigsville and the late Norma Sue Smith Malcomb. Her husband, Rodney Wayne Brinson Sr., also preceded her in death.
Judy was a homemaker who was full of life and love. She enjoyed crafting, flowers and spending time with family and friends. Judy was a Christian and was associated with the Baptist faith. Judy was known by friends and family as "Granny." Judy's wonderful smile and contagious love will be greatly missed but we know she suffers no more and is in the presence of her Savior.
Surviving besides her father are two children, Rev. Chanon Mullens and his wife, Melissa, of Gauley Bridge, and Christina Dawn Mullens of Monroe, N.C.; two sisters, Joan Russell of Craigsville, and Joyce Morrison and her husband, Randy, of Matthew, N.C.; a grandson, Blake Mullens who made his home with her and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, in the White Funeral Home at Craigsville with the Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia Memorial Gardens at Calvin.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Regina Marie Sadler O’Dell
QUINWOOD Regina Marie O’Dell, 55, of Coltridge Road, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2006, at home following a sudden illness.
Born May 29, 1951, at Richwood, she was the daughter of Granville and Dolphine Taylor Sadler.
Regina was a member of Mountain Baptist Church at Carl and a homemaker.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Michelle O”Dell, in 1981; a nephew, J.T. Scott; father-in-law, George O’Dell; and mother-in-law, Molona O’Dell.
Those left to mourn are her husband, Steven B. O’Dell; a son, Steven George O’Dell and wife, Shawna Kay Taylor, of Carl; a sister, Lynn Scott of Beckley; three brothers, the Rev. Von Sadler of Asbury, Jimmy Sadler of Glen Morgan and Robert Sadler of Midway; and two grandchildren, Desiree Michelle O’Dell and Justin Wright.

George Allen Riddle
Craigsville --George Allen Riddle, 56, of Craigsville, Nicholas County, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007.
Born May 10, 1950, at Sutton, he was a son of Evelyn Elliott Riddle of Craigsville and the late Clarence Riddle Jr.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a construction worker at Boso and Boso, Summersville.
Surviving, besides his mother, are his wife, Sharon Casto Riddle; a daughter and her husband, Jenny Marie and Allen Ward of Camden-on-Gauley; a brother, Stephen Riddle of Craigsville; two sisters, Donna Key and Marsha Sawyer, both of Craigsville; and a granddaughter, Shelby Denise Ward.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, at White Funeral Home, Craigsville, with the Rev. Everett Hayhurst and the Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Delphi Church Cemetery, Tioga.

RICHWOOD - Ruby Carol Radcliff Smith, 44, of Richwood died Jan. 31, 1997, in Richwood Area Community Hospital after a short illness.
She was a teller for First Community Bank, Richwood.

CRAIGSVILLE - Charlotte Ann Starcher, 51, of Craigsville passed away Oct. 14, 2002, in Summersville Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was a lab technician for Camden-on-Gauley Medical Center and a member of Alderson Baptist Church, Craigsville.
